Cynthya Bringas

Cynthya’s dancing career started at the age of 5, first in Mexican Folklore, then Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Hip-Hop, Salsa etc. She holds a bachelor degree in Arts/Dance with certification in Mexican folklore, and parallel to her dancing career, she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education as well. She has dedicated 30 years of her life to Artistic Gymnastics (she holds a certification from Mexico, Cuba and Canada in coaching), She is currently coaching competitive gymnastics and she is an International Gymnastics Judge as well. She has also been a Choreographer for over 20 years, including various positions, as a dance teacher at the Arts Education School in Sinaloa, Mexico (forming future dance teachers); at the University of Calgary, and in 2001 she joined the “Alma Mexicana” dance Group as a teacher and within the same year, she become the Artistic Director and was key on the creation of “Calmeca Dancers”, a dance group which has amused multiple audiences with several performances all over Alberta under her direction. Two years ago, she embarked in a new adventure: The creation of “Viva la Danza”, a Mexican folklore Dance School, dedicated to promote the mexican culture and to teach Real tradicional Mexican folklore (not for show or entertainment only), but for education purposes in order to keep the Mexican folklore traditions alive.
Cynthya is currently a member of the National Dance Teachers Association of Mexico, and attends twice a year their national dance congress in order to keep learning and studying the Mexican Folklore.
She believes that there is something new to learn everyday and that life is not about perfection but continuous improvement what makes the difference!
She loves to dance and plans on keep teaching and dancing for life!
